Hello love! I was sitting with the concept of "overwhelm" this week, and I realized something I wanted to share with you. Most of us don’t wake up one morning suddenly exhausted. We arrive there slowly—through patterns we didn’t mean to create and habits that once protected us. Before we know it, our days feel heavy. Not necessarily in a dramatic way, but in a way that feels like we're constantly wading through a thick fog. In my coaching practice, I see this often. We call it "overwhelm," but when we peel back the layers, we find it has a specific flavour. It’s the way we answer messages immediately, the way we put our needs last, or the way we apologize for simply taking up space. These are not flaws. They are information. I’ve just posted a new article on the blog about how to begin noticing these patterns without judgment. Because the truth is, awareness is the bridge from Overwhelm to Opportunity. You don’t need more discipline. You just need to start seeing. This week, I invite you to pause just once. Notice one pattern. Don't try to fix it or dismantle it yet. Just look at it with compassion. What is your day trying to tell you? With warmth, Erika P.S. If you find that "noticing" feels a bit uncomfortable at first, know that it’s a normal part of the process. Bringing light to old patterns is brave work. Be gentle with yourself as you start to see the architecture of your days a bit more clearly. erikapattersoncoaching@gmail.com |

Hello love! As we stand at the threshold of March, I’ve been thinking a lot about the "invisible load." For many of us, February was a month of just... holding it all together. Maybe you’ve been navigating the complexities of caregiving, untangling old patterns of self-sacrifice, or carrying a weight that nobody else seems to see. I know that weight. I’ve carried it as a mother, as a grandmother, and through 30 years of working within our healthcare system here in BC. I’ve learned the hard...
Softness, Return, Integration Hi love, If you’ve been feeling like you’re circling back— to an old pattern, a tender truth, a part of yourself you thought you’d already healed— I want to remind you: You are not behind. You are in process. And the spiral is sacred. This week’s reflection is for anyone who’s revisiting something familiar, but meeting it with new eyes. Softer. Wiser. More attuned. I wrote this piece to honor the quiet power of emotional return. To help you trust the spiral. To...
This season isn’t asking you to perform. It’s inviting you to return—with tenderness, truth, and time. Hello love, There’s a moment in every healing journey when the path stops moving forward. Not because you’ve failed. Not because you’re stuck. But because something inside you is asking to be remembered. This is the moment of return. November invites us into that spiral— not to rush ahead, but to come home to the part of us that still holds truth, still holds tenderness, still holds us. I’ve...
